Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
What are Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)? Good laboratory practices (GLP) provide a framework within which non-clinical and laboratory studies are planned, performed, monitored, recorded, reported, and archived. GLP is a quality system used to assure that the data submitted to the regulatory authorities are an accurate reflection of the results obtained during the study. GLP is most often used during the preclinical trials of the drug development process.
What is the importance of GLP?
GLP is used to ensure and promote consistency, quality, safety, reliability, and integrity of chemicals during testing, thus allowing the data to be used for the assessment of the hazard and risks of the product being tested.
