Posterior Segment

The posterior segment is the posterior two thirds of the eye and includes the vitreous humor, retina, choroid, and optic nerve. The posterior and anterior chambers are connected by the pupil.

Disorders associated with the Posterior Segment:

  • Macular degeneration
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Glaucoma
  • Retinal tears and detachment
  • Retinitis pigmentosa
  • Traumatic injuries
