Office for Human Research Protection (OHRP)

Office for Human Research Protection is a part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that is involved in the oversight of the ethical aspects of the clinical research being conducted or supported by the DHHS.

OHRP also ensures compliance with regulations under 45 CFR 46, which contains guidelines regarding the protection of human subjects. In addition, OHRP creates online and in person educational programs, and provides clarification and guidance based on the principles of the Belmont Report.
