What is Immunotherapy? Immunotherapy are therapeutic modalities that modulates the body’s immune system so that it is able to function more effectively.

What Diseases is Immunotherapy Used for?

Immunotherapy has a variety of applications:

  • Immunotherapy in oncology is used to make changes to the function of the immune system to more effectively locate, target, and destroy cancer cells.
  • Vaccination against infectious diseases.
  • Immunosuppression in autoimmune disease and organ transplants.
  • Treatment of allergies and asthma through the introduction of the offending allergen in small increments to allow the immune system to be less reactive to the foreign substance.
