Dr Peter Kaise

Chaney Family Endowed Chair of Ophthalmic Research and a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic

Dr. Kaiser is the Chaney Family Endowed Chair of Ophthalmic Research and a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic, a position he has held for over 25 years. Dr. Kaiser’s educational background includes graduating magna cum laude with Highest Honors from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. In addition, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

As a National Institute of Health (NIH) funded researcher, Dr. Kaiser has served as the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials involving the evaluation of vascular biology in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal disorders. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Retinal Physician and the Associate Editor of International Ophthalmology Clinics. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has recognized him with their Achievement, Senior Achievement, and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Dr. Kaiser is also the team ophthalmologist for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
